Gemstones shimmer with a rainbow of colours. They can be as
translucent as water, as opaque as a cliff, or anywhere in between.
Pleasant to look at or touch. It's no wonder they were (and are) seen
to have a multitude of powers.
It's not too unusual to see villain sites giving information on
gemstones. After all, the majority of the villains are named after
some stone or another. What I've seen on most pages, though, is bare
physical information. They give the colour, the hardness and where it
originates in the world. It may be interesting for some, but that's
not what I want to know.
When I look at gems, I see the fascination they hold, the power
they give off. I get curious as to what legends lie behind those
facets and colours. So I started doing a bit of looking around.
This section will show you what I've found out. The stories and
powers behind the names. There are often some rather interesting
parallels to the characters they share a name with.
I do realize that I will be crossing back and forth between the
original anime and the DiC dub. Please forgive me for it, but I don't
think it's too huge of a deal.
