Like kunzite, zoisite is a fairly "new" gem, having been
discovered in the 1800s. It is an opaque gree with flecks of black and often has patches of
pink on it (the pink is actually a form of ruby which is often
found near zoisites). Clear zoisites are occasionally found, and can be heat-treated to
produce a blue-violet gem that is known as tanzanite.
Zoisite has its asociations with Venus amd earth. Due to its
more recent discovery, not as much information exsists on this gem. I would once again suggest
that you look over the colour and elemental asociations for
the basic properties of this stone.
